President-elect Dr William Ruto (55) was on the early afternoon of September 13, 2022, inaugurated as the 5th President of Kenya. That was reported by some East African media.

According to the reports, the presidential inauguration ceremony was held at Nairobi’s Kasarani Stadium amidst a huge crowd of supporters, and about 2 500 local and foreign dignitaries. Foreign dignitaries included all the leaders of the 7 member states of the East African Community, as well as the leaders of Ethiopia, Ghana, Republic of Congo, Seychelles, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Somalia, and Djibouti, among others.

The inauguration came 7 days after the country’s Supreme Court rejected all challenges against the results of the presidential election held on August 9, 2022, and upheld the results, hence confirming Dr William Ruto’s win of the election.
