Cubans Can Now Access Internet From Home

From July 29, 2019, Cubans are allowed to have access to Internet from their homes. That follows coming into effect a provision of a law passed some recently, that permits personal Internet access.

Hitherto this permission, Cubans could only access the Internet from some public areas known locally as Hot Spots. Despite high costs of Internet service in the country, the permission to have Internet access from home is seen as a great step towards increased individual freedom in Cuba.

Cuba is one of very few remaining communist countries in the world.
