Cuba To Roll-Out Its Own Covid-19 Vaccine Soon

Cuba will begin roll-out of its own covid-19 vaccine soon, reported some media on March 2, 2021.

Since 2020, Cuba’s scientists have been developing two covid-19 vaccines, namely Sovereign 1 and Sovereign 2, that are now said to be undergoing clinical trials. It is not known which of these two vaccines will be mass produced first.

Cuba has an impressive world-class record in vaccine research and development, having reportedly produced two thirds of the vaccines it has used so far in its national immunization program. Also, the Caribbean country is said to have exported its vaccines including vaccines against meningitis and hepatitis B to many other developing countries.
