Brexit Imminent After Boris Johnson Re-elected With big Majority




















Brexit is now imminent after Britain's incumbent prime minister Boris Johnson was re-elected with big majority, in the country's general elections held on December 12, 2019. Boris Johnson had vowed during the elections campaign, to pull Britain out of the European Union i.e. effect Brexit before January 31, 2020, if he was re-elected with a majority.


According to most recent media reports, Boris Johnson's Conservative Party won 364 parliamentary seats, while its arch-rival Labour Party got 203 seats. The British parliament alias House of Commons consists of 650 seats. To get a majority in the parliament, a political party needs at least 326 seats.


Speaking after the elections results were known, the flamboyant and charismatic Oxford educated Boris Johnson said his government has been given majority mandate to get Brexit done!
