Barbados And Kenya Sign Bilateral Economic Cooperation Deals

Barbados and Kenya on October 6, 2021, signed several bilateral economic cooperation deals in Bridgetown, Barbados, that entail, among others, direct air link, joint tourism marketing, and trade between the two nations. That was reported by some media on October 7, 2021.


Present at the signing of the deals was Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta who was in Barbados on a state visit and to hand over UNCTAD chairpersonship to Barbados' Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley. Reportedly President Uhuru Kenyatta was accompanied by a huge entourage of Kenyan businessmen, and trade and commerce officials.


During his visit to the popular exotic tropical Caribbean country, President Kenyatta was also conferred with Barbados' highest and most prestigious award, the Order of Freedom of Barbados, by the country's Governor General Dame Sandra Mason.


This is the second state visit to Barbados by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
