20th Ordinary EAC Heads Of States Summit Commences


The 20th ordinary heads of state summit of the East African Community (EAC), commenced at the bloc's headquarters in Arusha, Tanzania, on November 30, 2018. The summit brings together the heads of the six member states of the regional bloc, namely: Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and South Sudan.

According to East African media, heads of state attending the summit are the current chairman of the bloc and president of Uganda, Yoweri Museveni, as well as presidents John Magufuli and Uhuru Kenyatta of Tanzania and Kenya respectively. Heads of state of the remaining member states are said to have sent representatives.

Some rumors by some African media that the summit has been postponed to December 27, 2018 could not be confirmed.
