348 People Missing With Some Killed In Tanzania Under Suspicious Circumstances, Says MP Kabwe
On May 4, 2018 a prominent Tanzanian Member of Parliament (MP) Zitto Kabwe told the country's parliament in the capital Dodoma that he has a list of 348 people who have gone missing under suspicious circumstances, among which 68 are confirmed dead, reported Tanzania's media.
MP Kabwe is said to have also expressed his concern over police delays in investigating cases of torture, killings, and kidnapping in the East African state. He cited the case of barbaric shooting of MP Tundu Lissu in Dodoma in 2017, for which no arrest has been made by police so far.
Alleged political killings, torture, and kidnappings have been totally unknown in Tanzania, until recently.
