I am Not Dying, Says Mugabe As He Reiterates He Is Not Stepping Down

On July 27, 2017, Zimbabwe's first lady Grace Mugabe publicly challenged her husband president Robert Mugabe to step down by urging him to choose his successor. Mugabe was then reported to have kept totally silent, and many political analysts thought he was going to submit to his wife's suggestion. However, at a political rally on July 29, 2017, in the premises of a local university in his home town of Chinhoyi, president Mugabe broke his silence about him stepping down.

At the rally, Mr Mugabe put it very clearly and adamantly that he is not stepping down, and added that he is not dying! He particularly castigated those who are questioning his health status, by saying that doctors were recently puzzled by his strong bone system. He went further by saying that he may have an ailment here and there, but bodywise all his organs are very firm and very strong.
