Grace Mugabe Urges Husband To Choose Successor

During a speech she delivered to a meeting of Zimbabwe

's ruling party ZANU-PF's women's wing on July 27, 2017, Zimbabwe's first lady Grace Mugabe urged her husband president Robert Mugabe to choose his successor. Hitherto the first lady's utterance, suggestions related to stepping down of president Mugabe have been taboo in Zimbabwe, and often regarded as disrespective remarks to the veteran president. President Mugabe who attended the meeting, is reported to have said nothing about his wife's challenge.
