Sudan's Military And Opposition Parties Reach Agreement

An agreement about power sharing has been reached between Sudan's ruling Transitional Military Council (TMC) and a coalition of opposition parties and protesting activist groups, reported some media on July 5, 2019.

Under the agreement, a joint military-civilian ruling council will be formed to replace the TMC, that will rule the country transitionally for 3 years, under rotating military and civilian leadership. The envisaged new ruling body will entail 10 seats, with the military and civilians taking 5 seats each.

Earlier power sharing deals failed within hours of signing!
