Sudan Security Forces Massacre Over 120 Protesters

Sudan security forces have massacred over 120 protesters since June 3, 2019, as they attempted to crackdown renewed pro-democracy protests after the ousting of Omar al-Bashir, reported some media on June 7, 2019.

According to the reports, the bloody massacre began when security forces opened fire on protesters at a protest camp outside a military complex in the capital Khartoum. Some of the bodies of those killed are said to have been thrown into nearby Nile River, by the security forces. Some 40 bodies disposed into the river have been pulled out, according to some opposition groups.

Currently Sudan is run by a transitional military governing body called Transitional Military Council (TMC). Following the renewed protests, TMC on June 4, 2019 announced it will call for early general elections within 9 months time instead of 2 years it promised earlier.
