Denmark's Ban Of Face Concealing Fashion Accessories Comes Into Effect

Africauptodate

Denmark's new law that bans women from wearing fashion accessories that conceal the face, came into effect on August 1, 2018. The new law was passed by the country's parliament in May 2018.

More specifically, the law bans women from putting on fashion accessories totally or partially conceal the face, like the Muslim niqab and burqa. Failure to comply with the law may lead to fines of up to 10 000 Danish kronor.

Although according to the Danish lawmakers the new law is aimed at liberating women from been controlled presumably by jealous men or regressive values, women are reported to have taken into the streets of Copenhagen to protest against it's enforcement.

Great law by the liberal Danish legislators that should be emulated by other civilized progressive states! After all, the face is the main identity feature of human beings. It should therefore be clearly visible for social and security reasons among others. We can all recall what happened in Bradford, England, some years back, when a cold blooded cop killer escaped capture through dressing like woman with his face concealed under similar fashion accessories the Danes have now banned!
