Abuja Light Rail Line Inaugurated

Abuja light rail project in Nigeria's capital Abuja has been completed after a 4 years delay. The light rail line between down town Abuja and Abuja International Airport was inaugurated by the country's president, Muhammadu Buhari, on July 12, 2018. It was constructed by China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation.

The light rail line is phase one of an ambitious Abuja metro system, that will now have three stations completed. It is expected to contribute to alleviation of serious public transport problems confronting the rapidly growing city.
